2024 was a monumental year for women’s sports, packed with record-breaking achievements and historic firsts. From jaw-dropping performances at the Paris Olympics to the adrenaline-fueled X Games, it was a year to remember. Basketball saw Caitlin Clark make waves both in college and during her debut WNBA season, marking a transformative moment for the sport. Meanwhile, Ilona Maher became a trailblazer for rugby, championing body positivity and inspiring fans while boosting the profile of her new team, the Bristol Bears. The Women’s Super League kept smashing it too, with Arsenal‘s women’s team playing all their league games at the Emirates Stadium, drawing record crowds and setting a new standard for football in the UK. It’s been one hell of a year for women’s sport, and this barely touches the surface.
As we celebrate these incredible moments from 2024, it’s time to look ahead. From rugby and football to cricket and tennis, 2025 is set to be packed with unmissable women’s sports events.
