We are four days into the 31-day long transfer window, spurs have already been busy with two transfers coming from Australia and Sweden. Spurs have just signed two young talents which have the potential of being world class talents.
On the 2nd of January 2024, it was announced that spurs have signed the young Swedish talent, Matilda Vinberg. At only 20 years old she has been a vital part in the success of the clubs at which she has played. The young winger has recently won the Svenska Cupen and the Damallsvenskan (League) with her previous club Hammarby. She has also recently gained her first caps for Sweden under Peter Gerhardsson. In 2022 she was named hammarby’s player of the year and the Swedish breakthrough player of the year.
She is a very technical player, and she has scored 21 times in 78 appearances which for a young player shows a tremendous amount of talent. When asked about her singing to spurs she said that “It felt amazing to be here…I have always dreamt about playing in England, I feel excited and ready to do this.” Her first game for the Lilywhites could be against Sheffield United in the fourth round of the FA cup on Sunday 14th January. It will be exciting to see what she can bring to this hungry spurs team which want to prove themselves.
From Australia to Sweden to London, Charli Grant signed her contract on 3rd January 2024. At only 22 years old she brings with her a wealth of experience from the Olympics to the world cup. She has been there and experienced the moments. She had her international debut for the Matilda’s in September 2021 and since then she has been capped 21 times. She has won both the Damallsvenskan (League) twice in 2021 and 2022 and the Swedish club in the 2021/22 campaign with Rosengard. When asked about her move to spurs she said “His (talking about Robert Vilaham) team was always a top team, always a hard team to beat, high-pressing and always very technical, so now to be playing under him it is definitely better to be on that side than against him.” Her first game in Lilywhite could be against Sheffield united in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday 14th January. A spurs team that wants to prove themselves and a young player that wants to play a high level of football.

The first two transfers for spurs have been promising young players. Spurs are also linked with layers such as Amanda Nilden another Swedish international who currently plays in the Italian league with Juventus. So far, the Lilywhites have had a good and strong transfer window, but we are only 3 days into it. With 28 days remaining there is still more time for players to be brought in and players to leave.
