Soccer Aid for UNICEF makes a return to our screens with the 2024 charity event taking place in Stamford Bridge on the Sunday 9th June 2024.
With Sports icons and celebrities joining together for a good cause and battling it out on the football field. From fan favourites’ like Jill Scott and Karen Carney to new additions like Livi Sheldon and Erin Doherty.
What is Soccer Aid?
Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes are the men behind Soccer Aid for UNICEF, having come up with the idea in 2006 to help children in need of a better start in life. Annually, England takes part in the Soccer Aid World XI FC; broadcasted live on ITV and STV. This iconic event takes advantage of the passion fans have for the ball game and use that to make children in need grow up happy and healthy.
Soccer Aid comes in 12 instalments across a variety of popular football stadiums throughout the country. The money raised will help to protect children against diseases, support mental health and provide vaccines, Last year a whopping £14.6 million was raised for the cause.
UNICEF 2023 saw more female celebrities taking part than ever seen before, with the introduction of an all-female line up for the match officials.
Who is Playing?
Former England superstars and Euros 2022 winners Jill Scott MBE and Karen Carney return for another year of Soccer Aid for UNICEF as well as American soccer player Heather O’Reilly joining onto the cause. Scott takes on Captain for Soccer Aid 2024, will this be another win under her belt?

Not only do we have famous Athletes taking part but also Comedian Masie Adam takes the field against England; this will be her second appearance at Soccer Aid. Adam has always been a football fanatic, playing for Brighton and a Leeds United fan.

Soccer Aid for UNICEF will be broadcasted on ITV, fans also have the opportunity to watch the game in person with all the donations and sales going to UNICEF.
