10th December 2022, Estadi Johan Cruyff, Barcelona.
While Liga F still has one more match week before Christmas, FC Barcelona played its last league match against Alhama CF on December 10th. Due to the incredibly condensed schedule of the UWCL, their away match against Valencia was postponed for the new year. However, the Blaugrana team ended the year on a high in a 4-0 victory against Alhama after facing defeat midweek in the UWCL against Bayern Munich.
Claudia Pina was off the mark for Barcelona in the 4th minute, giving the Catalan club the lead. With possession largely dominated by Barcelona, there seemed no end to their attacks. Alhama goalkeeper Laura Martinez made some beautiful saves however she was unable to keep out Salma Paralluelo’s stunning free-kick strike out of goal. And that was the end of the first half.
The second half saw a stunning effort from Bruna Vilamala who scored her first goal since her return from her ACL injury. Alhama went down to 10 players with Zaira Flores earning a second yellow that turned into a red. Soon after, Asisat Oshoala, who had been looking for a goal from the opening minute of the game but had been unable to score, grabbed a goal for herself as well.
